We left a day earlier than we planned to head to VA because we thought it would be great to stop in Washington DC. Mitch and I love DC and had taken Nathan and Madison when Madison was three months old and Nathan wasn't even two. We thought now that they were older (7 and 8) they would appreciate it more. I'm not sure what age kids have to be to get Washington, but we only made it to the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and the World War II memorial (they are all located on the same side of town). Maybe we will try again in a few years and maybe when it isn't so hot.
