More fun from the ball park

Building a Rain Barrel

We wanted to collect rain water so that we could water our garden during the year. The city sells some neat kits that will do this rather easily; however, they cost anywhere from $120 to $185. So Mitch and Nathan decided to build us a collection system on our own. It turned out to be a fun project.

Day trip to Chicago

Chicago trip from M Freeman on Vimeo.

Last Monday we took a day trip to Chicago and spent time at the Shedd Aquarium and Grant Park.

Awana awards night

Nathan finished another sparks book this year and will get to move to Truth and Training next year.

Madison finished her second book in Sparks, she will have one more year in this group.

Noah finished his second Cubbie book and will move up to Sparks next year. He looks forward to playing games around the AWANA circle.

Opening Day

Nathan got one line drive through the short stop and third base.
This year Nathan will play catcher, second base, center field and closing pitcher.

Now that the kids have moved up they will listen to the national anthem every time before a game starts. We must be in the big league now.

Planting a Garden

We are excited to be planting our first garden this year. Wisconsin growing seasons are shorter than North Carolina's so we had to start later. We have planted lettuce, carrots, broccoli, onions, and peas. We will plant more this May when we are sure there won't be any more frosts.

Mud comes with warmer weather

My house is getting hard to handle with all of the mud! Each day new messes are made, but we are so thankful for warmer weather.
