For the past week we have been on vacation in Northern Illinois. This was the first time that we have taken a vacation and just had the whole week to be together as a family. We stayed in a beautiful ranch home near Galena, Illinois. We were there from Monday to Sunday and the entire week was free! Rocky Mountain Renewal ministries provided this place for us for free because we are in ministry. For any minister's families that are reading it is worth checking into. It was such a blessing for us to be without TV or Internet connections for an entire week (we did cheat and listen to the presidential debate on the radio Tuesday night, it felt like we were back in the '30's). We spent a lot of time reading, exploring the ranch, playing board games, and Foosball. It was just wonderful to have so much time to just be together without having to work or do school. We laughed a lot, had at least one scary "adventure", and just enjoyed one another. We learned about God's faithfulness and provision and putting our trust in Him. It was such a precious time I am so grateful to God that He provided this for us. Throughout the next few days Mitch is going to blog about some of the fun things we did, for now I just wanted to give God the praise for the wonderful trip and share a few pictures, hope you enjoy...
